THE WORK BEHIND THE CUP
Tea is still deeply physical work. Weeds are pulled by hand. Young leaves are picked by hand. Shade cloth is raised and carried across the fields. Growers work through sun and rain, watching the weather, the soil, and the plants to protect the quality of each harvest.
One grower told us that finding people willing to do this work is becoming harder.
That stayed with me.
Because behind the cup we enjoy so easily are people giving their time, strength, knowledge, and care to the land—often for generations.
WHY WE CARE
As I build ORTEANA, I don't want our relationship with them to end when we buy the tea.
For me, tea is a relationship—with the plant, with nature, and with the people who make each cup possible.
OUR COMMITMENT
We are choosing to work with independent growers, blend in small batches, and build a commitment to give 1% back to initiatives supporting grower families and communities.
Their work is part of our ritual, too.
